Learning Support (Early Childhood, Foundation Phase and Primary school learners)

Learning support involves the use of various resources, techniques, support materials and strategies, to promote learning and development for any leaners who need additional support, struggle academically or when any specific barriers to learning are suspected. Learning support provides physical, social, emotional and intellectual assistance to learners on their current level of functioning, in order to improve academically. Support is based on each individual’s needs and learning styles, and aims to advance any future learning opportunities.

Learning support services that can be provided to pre-school and primary school learners include:

1. Early Childhood Learning Programs (learning through play, exploration, discovery and experimentation)
2. Tutoring / Extra Lessons (Mathematics, English, Afrikaans, Natural Sciences, Technology, Life Orientation/ Life Skills, Social Sciences – History and Geography, and Economic Management Sciences)
3. Supplementary Support – Specifically tailored for your child’s educational needs (listening, speaking, reading, writing, spelling, mathematics, homework, assignments, etc.)
4. Study Skills (including: time management, organising, learning styles, planning, studying for tests/exams)
